Global Account Manager, Government Accounts - CO

Details: Responsibility: Position is responsible for selling Panduit products to, and growing relationships within named Federal & Civilian Agency account(s) that are of significant strategic importance to the organization.  Engage closely with key federal integrators, consultants, designers, distributor strategic account executives, and alliance partners within the government market, building strong business and personal relationships that help position Panduit as the preferred supplier for data-comm and electrical solutions. This is a global account management position, with a focus on accounts that have a major strategic impact on the long-term success of the organization. The Global Account Manager will develop and maintain relationships with key contacts within their named account at a high, executive level, as well as senior management levels and sell them on Panduit’s product solutions with a focus on developing a Panduit global spec position within these accounts. They will be required to identify global project opportunities, promote and leverage Panduit successes globally within account and work with Panduit’s global organization to insure ongoing, effective communication of contacts, relationships and project opportunities. The Global Account manager is responsible for the expansion, retention and penetration of their global accounts while simultaneously maintaining customer satisfaction. Provides leadership to field sales team supporting their global account(s). Account penetration and balanced sales growth are critical performance measures.   Skills, Training, Experience Required: BS/BA Degree: Technical, Business or Marketing 10+years outside sales experience, preferably within the electrical and/or data comm industry, with at least 8 years selling to federal and local government agencies. Must have successful track record of selling to large national and global customers. Demonstrated knowledge of government market drivers with strong skills in prospecting and managing large accounts. Experience in business planning and sales forecasting, short, mid, and long-term opportunities. Established public sector network with the ability to navigate the climate, work persuasively and articulate strategy at all levels.  Knowledge of LAN/WAN/SAN networks, data centers and VOIP is preferred. Military or government experience with security clearance a plus Knowledgeable and can discuss Panduit’s unique value proposition, and uses this knowledge to develop new business opportunities. Ability to develop and build successful relationships, and leverage those relationships through the account to drive additional sales revenue. Experienced with all aspects of managing existing customer accounts. Can describe the needs and preferences of key players at relevant customer accounts. Can discuss demographics, trends and issues affecting specific markets and customers. Is knowledgeable about local, regional and company-wide resources available for deployment. Coordinates with customer on account activities and monitors customer satisfaction. Is able to match customer needs with appropriate products and services Experienced calling on Federal agencies and System Integrators, at all levels within the account.   Can discuss customer's goals, strategies and objectives. Has developed and nurtured personal relationships with key customer decision makers. Experienced with negotiating and executing a variety of sales agreements, programs, and promotions.   Has developed special programs and non-standard sales agreements. Is knowledgeable in customer's funding process and the involvement of key decision makers. Has prepared and delivered formal proposals to large or critical customer audiences. Can elaborate on issues for matching a solution to a customer's budget, priorities and strategy. Has demonstrated strong account planning skills at the national/global level. Has experience developing business plans that lead to incremental sales. Previous experience using a CRM and structured account planning process.
